About Our Medical Office

The Campbell facility opened in October 1999. The facility was a first in many ways. We were the first to use the new template for outpatient office design, including standardized sizes for exam rooms and provider offices. We were also the first to create expectations for excellent customer service PRIOR to staff being hired; in fact, physicians had to apply for and be interviewed for positions, rather than simply requesting a transfer. The Campbell Medical offices also were the first to hold training for the entire staff, including the physicians, to optimize the hand-offs between departments before we opened our doors to patients. This is a practice that has now been adopted as the Kaiser Permanente standard.

Our original building, at 220 Hacienda Avenue, includes departments of Medicine, Ob/Gyn, Pediatrics, Minor Injury, Health Education and Member Services as well as Pharmacy, Lab, and Radiology. We opened our second building, housing a second pharmacy (Vasona) and our Mental Health Services, at 200 Hacienda Avenue (right across the parking lot) in October 2003.

The Vasona Business Park where we are located was built in 1963; the city of Campbell was incorporated in 1952. In the 1880’s the area was a center for fruit canning and drying.

Dr. Cecil C. Cutting, one of the founding members of The Permanente Medical Group and its first Executive Director, was born here in Campbell in 1911.
