Here is a list of Mental Health groups within the Fremont, Hayward, and Union City areaa:

| ACT Group | 8 weeks | Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is for people with a variety of clinical concerns. |
| Adjustment to Disability Group | On-going | Group for persons adjusting to disability with focus on supporting individuals in developing beliefs, and goals consistent with optimal functioning (themes may include grief/loss, relasionships, daily functioning, support system, body image & sense of self). |
| Adult Drop-In Group | On-going | Ongoing, drop-in group for patients in crisis and other patients who want to receive feedback, support, and coping options in a small group setting. |
| Building Bridges: LGBTIQQ Drop-In Group | Twice monthly | A twice monthly drop-in group for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and those questioning. Focusing on improving mental health and relationships by building community. |
| Clutter Group | On-going | Exposure-based group for individuals with hoarding issues. |
| Coping 101 | One session | One session group focusing on healthy lifestyle changes to cope with stressors, regulate mood and improve quality of life. Patients will make action plan to shift at least one area of their life to improve coping. |
| Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) | 12 weeks | A 12 week skills intensive class emphasizing mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, & interpersonal effectiveness. |
| Depression Group | 10 weeks | 10 week skills-based group that aids in the management of depression and its symptoms. Group includes homework |
| Divorce & Separation Group | On-going | Support for newly divorced & separated men & women. |
| Drop-In Group for Families with Adult Children with ASD | Twice monthly | For patients with diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorder and their family members. Group provides support and information. |
| Emotional Eating Group | On-going | Psychoeducation & support. Book suggested: “Making Peace with Food” by Susan Kano. |
| Finding Balance: Bipolar Mindfulness Group | 10 weeks | A 10 week DBT skills class for people with bipolar disorder, Teaches mindfulness and coping skills to manage mood and improve relationships. |
| Graduate Depression Group | On-going | Continuing depression work for people who have completed the entire DEPSY group in the past 1 year. |
| HIV Support Group | 8 weeks | A group for pt’s with co-morbid HIV and psychological diagnoses who are seeking support and psychoeducation. |
| Introduction to Anxiety | Single session | One time group that covers all types of anxiety, with a focus on fight/flight, breathing, facts vs. fears, causes, and skills. |
| Job Problems | On-going | Group for pts c/o job stress. Focus is on facilitating coping skills (e.g., CBT, assertion, problem solving), and support, including psychoeducation in regards to community resources for occupational problems. |
| Life Improvement Group | On-going | Socialization, recreation therapy, daily living activity and skills. |
| Managing Anxiety and Panic (MAP) group | 6 weeks | Learn and use methods to reduce anxiety in patients with a diagnosis of Panic Disorder. |
| Mindfulness Group | 8 weeks | Basic training in mindfulness skills, including meditation, visualization, improving bodily / cognitive / emotional awareness, developing healthy compassion for self and others, and engaging in mindful behaviors and choices. |
| Motivate Group | On-going | For patients considering a change regarding use of drugs and/or alcohol. |
| New Mom’s Group | On-going | Education and support group for new mothers. O.K. to bring babies and children up to age 2. |
| OCD Group | 8 weeks | Exposure based treatment group for Obessive Compulsive Disorder. |
| Relaxation Skills for Beginners Group | On-going | For any patient who could benefit from learning and practicing more relaxation skills. Pts will be introduced to a few different techniques. |
| Seeking Safety | 6 months | This co-ed group will focus on treating patients with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder symptoms and those who have co-occuring trauma diagnoses and addictions. The group’s focus is on safety. Patients will develop coping skills to feel safe in relationship to self and others. The group will not share details of past trauma. Instead, members will focus on how past trauma impacts their current functioning and be encouraged to create a supportive network outside of the group that includes safe people who support their recovery. |
| Sixty Plus | 12 weeks | Support group for older adults. Common themes of retirement adjustment, failing health, widowhood, etc. Emphasis on skill building. |
| Social Anxiety Group | 8 weeks | Exposure based group for individuals with social anxiety. Homework required. |
| Spanish CBT Treatment of Anxiety and Depression group | 8 weeks | Skill based group that helps overcome depression/anxiety. |
| Spanish Drop-In Group | Weekly | To focus on abilities to reduce symptoms, psycho education on depression and anxiety, and information on further treatment. To give immediate support. |
| Spanish CBT – Treatment of Depression Group | 8 weeks | Skill based group that helps overcome depression and its symptoms. Group includes homework. |
| Ups and Downs | On-going | Education & support for individuals with diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder |
| Women’s Issues Group | On-going with periodic reviews | Psychotherapy support group that explores issues including women’s roles, relationships, phase of life issues, communication, and women’s health. No current domestic violence issues. |
| Worry Group | 6 weeks | A brief skill oriented group focused on reducing the intensity and frequency of worry thoughts |
