Understanding Anxiety Series
In this series, you will learn about the different causes of anxiety and dig deeper to understand what triggers anxiety for you and ways to manage your symptoms. We’ll discuss what happens to the brain when it responds to a perceived threat, and what physical symptoms you may feel. W e’ll help you explore your thoughts and compare your fears with the facts of a situation. You’ll also learn techniques to relax, reduce your response to triggers, and think and act assertively. Open to the community.

Assertiveness and Communication Skills
If you have difficulty speaking up for yourself, build the skills you need to improve your self-esteem and communicate better. You’ll also learn how to set limits, handle criticism, and resolve conflicts in healthy ways. Open to the community

Managing Anger Series
Is your anger causing problems with family, friends, or colleagues? We’ll help you identify your anger triggers, develop communication skills, and practice new ways to respond instead of letting your emotions overcome you. This series does not satisfy the court-ordered treatment required for domestic violence.

Managing Depression Overview

Mental Health Services
Members may apply for services directly or be referred by a provider. The following services are available by appointment and the fees are based on your type of health plan coverage. Call (510) 675-3080 (Union City) or (510) 248-3060 (Fremont) for more information.
Adult Psychiatry: Provides a variety or group and individual treatment programs for mental health programs where the patient is at least 18 years of age.
Child, Adolescent & Family Services: Group and individual/family services for mental health problems where the primary patient is under 18 years of age.
Emergency Services: Call 911 if the emergency is life threatening. During regular clinic hours (Weekdays, 8:30-5:30pm) contact Union City at (510) 675-3080 or Fremont (510) 248-3060. After hours, or on weekends or holidays, contact (510) 675-3080 or (510) 248-3060 and follow the instructions to connect to the After Hours Psychiatry Call Center.
Intensive Outpatient Program: Provides intensive group therapy and case management for patients at risk for psychiatric hospitalization. Treatment lasts approximately 4 weeks with discharge to regular outpatient programs.
