Inpatient Pediatrics Unit at Hayward Hospital Moving to the Oakland Hospital on Nov. 17, 2013
We are concerned that there may be confusion about pediatric services provided at Kaiser Permanente Hayward and want to be sure our members have accurate information about the Inpatient Pediatrics Unit scheduled to move from our Hayward Hospital to the Oakland Hospital on November 17, 2013.
It is important that you know this move is for inpatient care only - when a child is admitted to the hospital and has to stay one or more days. You can still see your same pediatrician at the same location for day-to-day care, like routine appointments, immunizations and urgent care. Pediatric services will remain in Hayward and we are expanding pediatrics in San Leandro when the new Medical Offices open in April 2014.
For details about the move and the health care services that will remain in Hayward at the Sleepy Hollow Medical Offices after the new San Leandro Medical Center opens in 2014 - please see the informational fact sheets. For further inquiries, please send us an email.

Ready, Aim, Smile - Member Photo Identification Program
At Kaiser Permanente, members are at the center of everything we do. As part of our continued efforts to provide the highest quality care and service, we are introducing the Member Photo Identification (MPI) program to add your photo to your individual secure electronic medical record.
We want all of our health care providers to be familiar with every member. By placing your photo into your medical record, your doctor and other care providers are able to become more familiar with you before and during your visit.
The next time you visit one of our medical centers, just look for one of our orange Smile! banners. A designated staff member will take your picture and upload it into your secure electronic medical record. This service is voluntary, free of cost to all of our members, and only takes 60 seconds or less.
Complimentary Wireless Internet Access in Fremont and Hayward

Complimentary wireless access is being provided to members and guests for purposes of checking e-mail, staying in touch with their employers, and general Internet use.
