About our medical offices

In November 1982, against the back drop of rolling hills and in a quiet city, Kaiser Permanente converted a vacant two-story office building in Milpitas into a medical facility to service approximately 50,000 medical-plan subscribers. The original purpose was to serve the members who had to commute to the Santa Clara and San Jose medical centers.

The contrast between the environment of then and now is startling!

As anticipated, the new Kaiser Permanente clinic grew steadily to keep pace with its developing area and growing membership. It now stands as solid as a rock, both as an outstanding outpatient medical facility and as a respected pillar in the Milpitas community.

From its original occupancy of the 770 E. Calaveras building, Kaiser Milpitas grew to occupy 3 additional sites: the 589 Los Coches St. building opened in 1986, the 611 S. Milpitas Boulevard building, in 1990, and the 700 E. Calaveras Blvd. Building, in 2000. Today, Milpitas has a membership of 70,000. Then operating from just the one building, Milpitas offered Internal Medicine, Ob-Gyn, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Allergy and Urgent Care. It featured a Laboratory, X-ray facility and Pharmacy department. Today it offers all the above plus Adult and Child Psychiatry, Physical Therapy, Occupational Health, Health Education, Member Services, Patient Relations, and two additional Pharmacies. Its Adult Medicine department offers Chronic Condition services in Hypertension, Cholesterol and Diabetes.

All healthcare areas have grown dramatically, in scope and in sophistication.

Milpitas' member population is very diverse and several steps have been taken to enhance its service to a growing multicultural population – an ongoing Bilingual Language training program for nursing staff, the Vietnamese Focus Group, and interpretation services for members.

Milpitas' 20th Anniversary was held in November 2003. A great deal of planning went into this memorable event; attendees included the founding members, current physicians and staff, the honorary original employees, some of whom are still working here, and local dignitaries.

Milpitas' excellent leaders are Dr. Ravita Saluja, Physician-in-Charge, Dr. Bill Jue, Assistant Physician-in-Charge and Robin Parsons, R.N., Assistant Medical Group Administrator.
