Women and Children’s Center

We are looking forward to sharing the joy of the miracle of life with you when our new 174-bed Women and Children’s Center opens. The center was designed to provide the childbirth experience you want in a caring, family-centered environment with our highly qualified physicians, nurses and staff. Our private birthing suites combine a home-like décor with all the medical equipment needed for your baby’s delivery. Each has a shower, bathroom, and fold-out bed for a family member as well a phone and flat-screen TV. Each room has a window overlooking our rooftop garden. In the spirit of family-focused care, mother and baby can room together from birth until they leave for home, visiting hours are unlimited, and fathers or other family members can stay overnight. It is the ideal place for your baby’s first bath and lullaby.
A Healthy Start
While most births are uncomplicated, our new Women and Children’s Center will include an innovative, 48-bed Level III neonatal intensive care unit where we can provide the latest medical advances for babies born prematurely or with serious medical problems. We are creating an environment that offers highly specialized care while supporting and encouraging parents to bond with their child during this important time. The unit will feature recliners and bassinets that can be curtained off to create a private area to be with your child. Our team of experts, including board-certified neonatologists, respiratory therapists, specially trained nurses and other clinical specialists, will be on-site to care for infants who need monitoring or medical attention.
Through a Child's Eyes
If your child is hospitalized, we will do all we can to make the stay as comfortable as possible. Our new pediatric unit was designed with your family in mind, featuring private rooms with a fold-out sleeper so parents can stay overnight. You can play games or watch television with your child in spacious recreation rooms and make snacks in the family kitchen. Hospital-based pediatricians and child-life specialists will be on-site 24 hours a day. If your child is seriously ill, pediatric intensivists will provide expert care in a dedicated intensive care unit. We will also have one of the most comprehensive pediatric teams in the Greater Sacramento area, with 40 specialists on site who have expertise in areas that include anesthesia, cardiology, endocrinology, urology, spine surgery, oncology, neurology, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and pulmonology.
