Mission Cataract
Kaiser Permanente will offer free vision and financial screenings to determine who in the Greater Sacramento area may be eligible for free cataract surgeries that will be performed later this spring. The screenings will be held on Saturday, April 19, at the Kaiser Permanente Rancho Cordova Medical Offices, 10725 International Drive.
The free cataract surgeries are part of Mission Cataract USA, an annual program that provides the sight-restoring procedure to hundreds of people across the nation who have no health insurance and can’t afford the operation. Kaiser Permanente physicians and staff, who have volunteered for the program for the past 13 years, will perform free cataract surgeries on eligible individuals on Friday, May 2, 2008.
Screening appointments are required and must be made by April 11. For more information or to sign up for an appointment, call (916) 973-7159.
