Kaiser Permanente dedicates new, eco-friendly surgery facility in Folsom

Kaiser Permanente recently dedicated our new $41.6 million Ambulatory Surgery facility to serve the needs of a growing population in the Folsom area. The state-of-the-art facility, which features six licensed operating rooms and 24 pre-operation and recovery bays, is making it easier and more convenient for many patients to have outpatient surgery close to home.

On Nov. 4, 2008, the 46,000-square-foot facility, located at 285 Palladio Parkway, began offering outpatient surgery services, including orthopedic, podiatric, women’s health and general surgery procedures. More than 7,000 procedures a year are expected to be conducted annually at the center, which is staffed by surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, pharmacists, radiology technicians and other clinicians. The new Ambulatory Surgery facility is also linked to KP HealthConnect, Kaiser Permanente’s high-tech electronic medical record system.

Keeping in line with Kaiser Permanente’s green construction practices, environmentally responsible materials were used throughout the facility. Special roofing materials deflect heat to cool the building, skylights provide natural light, and the rubber flooring does not need to be waxed or stripped with harsh chemicals. The carpet in the facility also has PVC-free backing made from recycled safety glass.

This facility is part of the $4.8 billion investment Kaiser Permanente is making in the Greater Sacramento area to bring more hospital beds, more clinics, and expanded Emergency Services to the communities we serve.
