Kaiser Permanente San Jose Grantmaking
Kaiser Permanente San Jose Community Benefit is committed to supporting local organizations that improve community health. If your organization serves the southeastern half of Santa Clara County, including San Jose, Morgan Hill, and Gilroy, we would be interested in hearing from you.
First, please read our grant priorities and guidelines thoroughly to determine if your project matches the areas we fund.
If it does, please complete the application attached below.
If you have questions, feel free to contact Elizabeth Sills, Community Benefit Manager.
Kaiser Permanente San Jose Grantmaking Priorities
Area 1: Children and families make healthy lifestyle choices. We believe you’re never too young to learn the importance of balance. At Kaiser Permanente, we’re committed to helping find that balance through exercise and nutrition programs.
Area 2: Children and families manage their chronic conditions successfully. We believe that chronic conditions can not only be stabilized, but improved, and that the quality of life of those living with these conditions can improve dramatically with appropriate interventions.
Kaiser Permanente San Jose Grantmaking Guidelines
Applicants are encouraged to contact Community Benefit staff prior to submitting a full application in order to solicit feedback. Multiple requests from a single agency are discouraged and require advance permission from the San Jose Area Community Benefit Manager.
Applications submitted to Kaiser Permanente San Jose are reviewed throughout the year. Once an application is submitted, it will be reviewed by the appropriate Community Benefit staff member(s) who may contact you to request additional information and/or schedule a site visit.
The Contributions Committee holds three meetings during the year at which time grant applications are considered. Applicants wishing to be considered at these meetings should issue proposals by the following deadlines:
| PROPOSAL DEADLINE | NOTIFICATION | |
| December 1
April 1 July 1 | February
May August |
All grant applications (both the electronic copy and the hard copy) must be received or postmarked by proposal deadline
Once a funding decision is made, you will receive written notice from Kaiser Permanente San Jose. Grant funds will be disbursed approximately 8-10 weeks after the written notification.
