Every three years, Kaiser Permanente undertakes a strategic planning process; collecting and analyzing health data to assess community health needs in order to know how to best help improve the health of our local communities.

In 2007, a coalition of area hospitals and health-focused organizations called the Community Benefits Coalition produced a Community Health Assessment for Santa Clara County.
