The mission of the Health Education Department at San Jose is to improve the health and well being of our members physically, mentally, and emotionally. We strive to support and improve our members' health and satisfaction by being active partners in preventing disease, promoting health and wellness, creating opportunities for people to learn how to manage their own actions, and helping our members change the environments that influence their health. Health Education emphasizes active participation, informed decision making, self-care skills and the value of peer support.
