with the hustle and bustle of trying to purchase presents, preparing food and memories of passed loved ones. Be proactive this holiday season by taking steps to manage your mood and nurturing yourself.
15 tips to make your holidays more mindful
- Start early, plan well, and take care of yourself
- When holiday shopping, make sure you are nurturing yourself by having lunch
- Monitor your mood. Ask yourself "Am I hungry? Am I tired? Am I thirsty?"
- Pace yourself throughout the holiday - do not over commit
- Set boundaries with friends and family - It is ok to say "No"
- Have a positive attitude - redirect your negative thinking to something positive
- Decorate with uplifting music
- Give yourself plenty of time to bake and cook
- Stay centered - make a list of priorities and determine which ones you value the most
- Create new traditions - take a hike on a new path or serve healthier item of food
- Give yourself permission to relax - take a bubble bath (for men too!)
