Being healthy sexually is just as important as eating right and staying active. Being an adult means making sexual choices that are right for you whether you decide to be sexually active or not.
If you do decide to have sex, reduce your risk for unplanned pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. You're in charge.

If you are a woman who has sex with men, and aren't ready to have a baby, you need a birth control plan. Choosing the method of birth control that works best for you is an important decision.

Protect yourself from STDs
It's important to understand that when you become sexually active, you can be at risk of getting a sexually transmitted disease (STD). This is true for all forms of sexual activity such as oral, vaginal, or anal intercourse.
Except for not having sex (abstinence), there is no sure way to avoid contracting an STD. You can reduce your risk by:
If you are concerned that you may have a sexually transmitted disease, talk to your doctor. All of your test results are confidential and will not be shared with anyone without your written consent (unless required by law).
Healthy relationships
Is someone hurting you, threatening you or forcing you to do sexual things you don't want to do? Are you afraid of your partner?
You deserve to be safe. We understand that it's difficult to talk about violence, especially from a family member or intimate partner. Your doctor is a safe person to talk to. You will be given the resources to help end the abuse.
