Background
I was raised in Oakland, California and went to college and medical school on the East Coast. After completing medical school and a residency in Pathology at Howard University, I completed my residency training in Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. I returned to Oakland California practicing in a large group before joining the Kaiser Permanente Group.
My approach to health care is simple: Patient education is important to me. I believe the more patients understand about their conditions, the better able they are to manage their conditions well. Unfortunately, these are few cures for many conditions but controlling illness can reduce complications.
