Background

My fascination for Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery, stems from my passion for art.  I particularly enjoy Chinese watercolor brush painting and drawing.  As an artist, I see many parallels between surgery and art.  Both require a sense of imagination, creativity, manual dexterity, and good hand-eye coordination.  Thus, I am especially attracted to the detailed procedures in head and neck surgery, the ability to improve patient quality of life both functionally and aesthetically, and ultimately the potential to create a positive impact on patient lives.

Specializing in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery, I focus on treating disorders of the ears, nose, and throat.  In addition, I completed a fellowship through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), sub-specializing in both facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.

My sincere compassion for others and enthusiasm to continually advance the level of patient care serve to augment my goal to improve the field of medicine.  I strive to actively integrate education into the care of my patients, so that they feel well-informed and comfortable with their treatment plan.  A career at Kaiser Permanente provides me with a dynamic environment that fosters educational growth, innovation, as well as continual inspiration to improve patient quality of life.
