Background

Hello! Thank you for visiting my physician home page. I will use this homepage as a way to foster better communication with your family. I also have some links about pediatric rheumatic disease that I hope you will find useful.

I am Pediatric Rheumatologist which means that I specialize in treating children with rheumatic disease (see below). I first became interested in pediatric rheumatology as a medical student where I enjoyed treating the whole patient, learning about the complexity of autoimmune disease, and developing long-term relationships with patients and their families. I completed fellowship in pediatric rheumatology at Seattle Children’s Hospital following my pediatric residency and Chief Residency here at Kaiser Foundation Hospital, Oakland. During my fellowship, I became fascinated by the genetics of pediatric autoimmune disease and pursued research involving the genetic causes of juvenile idiopathic arthritis and maternal microchimerism. I joined Kaiser Northern California for several reasons: the Bay Area lifestyle, Kaiser Permanente’s dedication to delivering state-of-the-art, integrated patient care, and, most of all, helping children and families affected by autoimmune disease.

I spend my spare time exploring the outdoors with my children and husband, and I also love to cook.

Please consider creating a free account at Kaiser Permanente so that we may communicate about recent lab and x-ray results, as well as non-urgent messages.
