I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1989 after having been in private practice and academics since 1983. I did my surgery training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas from 1978 to 1983. I then moved back to the Bay Area, which has been home for most of my life.
Although I had been a Kaiser patient since my youth, I was not sure what it would be like to work for Kaiser. I can say, without reservation that this is the best maxillofacial practice anyone could wish for in the entire United States. What I like about working at Kaiser is that we get to practice medicine the old-fashioned way…the doctors make the decisions, not some bureaucrat. I plan to continue working here until they drag me out!
In my spare time, I like to garden and cook spicy food. I have two dogs and one husband (though sometimes it feels like three dogs!!).
