Background

Having grown up in the San Francisco Bay Area, I always wanted to attend the University of California.  Upon graduating from Cal, I chose to pursue my life’s dream of becoming a Doctor by attending Stanford University School of Medicine. While attending Stanford I had the wonderful opportunity to rotate through the Santa Clara and Redwood City Kaiser Permanente Medical Centers for clinical rotations.
On graduating from Stanford I moved east to Rochester, New York and the University of Rochester Medical School to begin a residency in Internal Medicine .During that residency I rotated on the Neurology service, and immediately fell in love with the Neurosciences and Neurolgy and entered into the three year Neurology residency there in Rochester.  As I finished my Neurology training I looked to return to California.  Given my past positive experiences with Kaiser Permanente,  I joined Kaiser Permanente here in Sacramento in July, 1979 and have enjoyed a wonderful practice here with many talented colleagues and all of my patients and their families.

Roles and Responsibilities

In addition to my Neurology practice I have the great honor of serving the Sacramento Kaiser Permanente Medical Center as Chief of Staff for the hospital and as Physician-in-Chief for the Permanente Medical Group.
