Family and Friends

I grew up in a farming community of 300 in North Central Iowa. My interest in public service began during my formative years while working in my father's general store. I was always interested in science and chose to combine these two interests in the practice of medicine.  In my free time, I enjoy reading, books on tape, hiking, cooking, eating at one of the many incredible Bay Area restaurants or keeping up with our two daughters.
