Background

I am so happy to be a physician at Kaiser Permanente!  When I was deciding to go to medical school (or be a full time activist) I realized that advocating for communities and families starts with health.  When I was applying for medical school, I decided to pursue both my MD and my Masters in Public Health (MPH) because I wanted to understand how the health of a community affects the health of an individual.

I went to the University of Utah and completed my MD, MPH, and was honored with many opportunities to work on the Northern Ute Indian reservation, Belize, Kenya, Tibet and Nepal.  Working in these diverse communities and focusing on individual and public health helped me to gain a broader perspective about wellness, it also helped me to understand a greater appreciation of the diverse practices within medicine.

I look forward to meeting you!

Roles and Responsibilities

When choosing a specialty, I wanted to do something that allowed me to be a generalist as well as a specialist.  I love seeing my patients for their yearly exams, catching up with all the changes in their lives, and also being there when they deliver their babies, start new families and to help people walk through the process on deciding on surgery.  I feel that OBGYN gives me the unique opportunity to do it all, and I love it!
