What is the real name of this specialty?

How do I get an appointment to seen an Ear, Nose, Throat Surgeon?
If you have not seen a Head and Neck Surgery Specialist in the past year, you will need a referral from your primary care provider.
Where is the Head and Neck Surgery Department located?
We are located at the Kaiser Permanente Homestead campus. Please see the Maps and Directions link on this website for location and driving directions.
Will there be a procedure done on my first visit?
Sometimes people are referred for a biopsy or removal (excision) of a lesion. There are four possibilities depending on the type of lesion: 1. No excision is deemed necessary after the consultation; 2. A lesion can be excised at the initial consultation visit; 3. A second visit may be necessary to schedule an excision; 4. Surgery under anesthesia may need to be scheduled to treat a lesion.
If a procedure is planned, do I need to prepare?
It is often recommended to stop any blood thinning medication such as aspirin or ibuprofen 7 days prior to a planned procedure.
Why are there two separate visits for evaluation of hearing loss?
Audiology is the department where hearing and balance tests are performed. It is a separate department from Head and Neck Surgery. When you are seen in our Audiology Department, your tests will be performed by Audiologists, who are experts in evaluating hearing and balance.
