I attended Massachusetts Institutes of Technology (M.I.T.) and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in biology. I then pursued a combined MD-PhD degree at Harvard Medical School with a scholarship from the National Institutes of Health. My residency training was at U.C. Davis Hospital, where I served as the Chief Resident my final year. I am a board-certified dermatologist.
