Are you having back pain with any of the following?
We understand that you are experiencing one or more of the health issues that might be impacting your back pain.
We recommend that you discuss these health issues with your doctor before proceeding with this program.
Once you are cleared by your doctor to do this program, we hope it helps you find relief from your back pain.
An important part of being your physician is understanding who you are. That also means understanding how valuable your time is. My colleagues and I have developed My Doctor Online so you can e-mail me, check your lab results, make an appointment, access our many online programs or get information about a particular health topic – any time it’s convenient for you.

I attended UC Davis, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. degree in Biochemistry. I also received the University Medal from U.C. Davis, the highest honor awarded a graduating senior. In 1985, I received my Medical Degree from UCSF, where I graduated second in my class. While at UCSF, I was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and was a Regent Scholar. I completed my internship and residency in Internal Medicine at UCSF.
I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1988. My medical interests include a wide variety of topics including lipidology, preventive cardiology, and exercise.
I have been the Chief of the Internal Medicine Department at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Clara since 1999 and was an Assistant Chief for 6 years prior to that. I am also the Chair of TPMG’s Chiefs of Medicine group. I also co-direct the Cholesterol Clinic at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Clara.

Kimberly is my regular medical assistant. She helps me to manage my patient practice. I think you will find her very friendly, kind, and helpful. When you come for a visit, she will take your vital signs, ask about your smoking and exercise habits, book your mammograms, PAP smears, eye appointments, help you get a flu shot, and give you a FIT kit if needed.
The other physicians on my module (Department 260) will cover for me when I am gone. Usually it will be Dr. Sam or Dr. Chaudhary who will be covering for me. All of my colleagues are tremendous physicians and several of the physicians on my module care for my own family members.
