Background
I am a General Surgeon with a subspecialty practice in Breast Surgery. I also have an interest in Thyroid, Parathyroid and Melanoma surgery.
I have been in practice at Kaiser San Jose since 1984. I served as the Chief of Surgery from 1996-2001 and I am the Chair of Kaiser Permanente Northern California’s Breast Care Task Force and the Chair of The Interregional Breast Care Leaders Group sponsored by the Permanente Federation. I represent Kaiser Permanente on a variety of advisory boards with community, government and professional organizations involved in Breast Cancer both in Northern California and Nationally.
We need to continue to advocate for research into the cause of this disease, and how to prevent it as well as for improving the quality of treatment for all women until there is a cure. If you would like to learn more you can go to the following web site: The Breast Cancer Fund.
It is important that we develop a partnership for health. There are ways that each of us can improve the quality of our lives by committing to regular exercise, watching our weight, improving our dietary habits, avoiding smoking and other substance abuses.
