Expanding our commitment to continually improve patient care, MAPMG recently added new Urgent Care medical services to Kaiser Permanente medical centers in Virginia and Maryland.
Fredericksburg Medical Center's Urgent Care physicians began operations on Friday, Jan. 27, and Baltimore Harbor Medical Center's Urgent Care services debuted on Monday, Jan. 30. The Urgent Care hours at both facilities are 5:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
"We practice urgent care medicine in an integrated model," said Regional Medical Director of Urgent Care Services Gene Gincherman, MD. He described MAPMG's medical practice as focused on the whole patient experience - both as data-driven physicians, and as caring, compassionate stewards of a patient's well being. MAPMG's practice of urgent care medicine is also focused on delivering high-quality care for immediate clinical concerns and preventive care needs of our members, as well as providing that care at a reasonable cost.
"I believe these considerations are especially important when caring for our members, who may not have benefited from high-quality care in the past," Dr. Gincherman said. "We continuously strive to reaffirm our commitment to the communities that we live and practice in."
Our Urgent Care centers are open evenings and weekends to offer an accessible alternative to the hospital ER when an injury or illness needs immediate medical attention, but is not a medical emergency. Patients can receive care from our carefully selected doctors who have instant access to a medical history through our secure electronic medical record system.
MAPMG will continue looking for ways to adapt and expand our facilities to help better serve our patients and meet their needs. Visit our website for more information and directions to our medical centers and partner hospital locations.
