Profile

NOTE: The health and safety of our members is always our top priority. To focus our resources during the pandemic, we have temporarily changed available services at certain medical centers. Go to kp.org/coronavirus for the latest.

Also, If you haven’t done so already, I encourage you to become a registered user on kp.org so that you can access care while remaining in the safety of your home (kp.org/register). Whether it is getting mail order prescriptions, having virtual visits, or sending secure messages, our mobile app helps us remain connected at all times, but especially during this critical period.

I am an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) and certified as an adult psychiatric-mental health clinical nurse specialist. I have been a psychotherapist in the Kaiser Permanente Behavioral Health Department since 1996.

Prior to Kaiser Permanente, I worked as an inpatient psychiatric nurse and an adjunct professor in psychiatric nursing education. As a nurse, I have had the unique opportunity to spend my entire career in the field of psychiatry working with children, families, and adults.

I received my bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Maryland and my master’s degree from Catholic University of America. My certification is commissioned from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. I am licensed to provide care in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. I take over 40 hours of continuing education every year to remain up to date on treatment modalities and psychopharmacology to provide the best care I can to all of my clients.

My general treatment approach is to support my clients in developing their personal strengths to overcome the stressors and conflicts that are inhibiting their most optimal functioning and causing them symptoms and strife. My goal is to aid my clients in their personal growth through an evolution of their coping skills, self-esteem, confidence, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. As insight into emotional reactions and behaviors is learned, clients are then able to adapt and develop healthier responses and behaviors to be their true selves and live the life they want to live. I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches to meet the needs of the individual client. These include, but are not limited to, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, solutions-based therapy, brief therapy, and psychoeducation.

I work with adult clients who struggle with issues in their mood, depression, anxiety, grief, adjustment issues to life transitions, relationship problems, and stress management. As an APRN, I also work with the chemical dependency team in providing care for addictions and with the psychiatrists in caring for clients with thought disorders and special needs.

What My Patients Say

I met Anne Brannock today. I lost my dad last Saturday and am having difficulty in dealing with the loss. She understood my disposition and provided coping strategies. I appreciate her knowledge and ability to talk me through this earth-shattering loss of my father. - MB
