Profile

I joined the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group because I support its focus on community partnerships, preventive medicine, and personalized care.

I like being a physician because I have the privilege to play an active role in the healthy development of children. I have a special clinical interest in community health, nutrition, and obesity prevention.

Pediatric gastroenterology is not just about treating patients with GI issues but also about being able to recognize the unspoken words or distress of crying sick children and to alleviate the anxiety of their parents.

Pediatric gastroenterology is a subspecialty that is changing and expanding, from capsule endoscopies to help see the small bowel to new treatments for inflammatory bowel disease and viral hepatitis. These new and better treatments can help improve the lives of our patients.

A pediatric gastroenterologist must have a broad scope of knowledge because many patients have chronic conditions that require multiple subspecialties working hand in hand to help in the management of their care.

There is still so much more to learn in this field and new advancements made every day will further help in the management of patients.
