Profile

After completing my residency here and wanting to stay in the area, I decided to join the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group after several promising options. Kaiser Permanente’s model of patient care was most in line with my passion as a physician for providing patient education.

Whether women’s health or the miracle of pregnancy, it is important to me that my patients have a full understanding of care every step of the way.  Kaiser Permanente’s online patient medical record and vast data base of clinical information allows me the tools to provide all aspects of patient information and education.

The ability to care for my own patient population with an integrated medical record system allows me the access and freedom to provide outstanding medical care.

What My Patients Say

Dr. Friedman is a knowledgeable clinician who has a wonderful way of humanizing medicine, personalizing his observations so that they are understandable to his patients. His encouraging and collaborative nature makes him a joy to visit. - NO

My wife has been a client of Dr. Friedman ever since she got pregnant last year. He has been the best ob/gyn doctor we have experienced since we came to this country. - MS

Dr. Friedman was simply my answered prayer, as I navigated my recent health journey amidst challenging symptoms and unique personal circumstances. He was, by far, the most thoughtful and respectful doctor I have ever known, and always provided information that was useful and applicable to me as an individual. While there is no mistaking Dr. Friedman's superior talents, skills, and intellect, I believe his greatest assets are: his listening skills, welcoming demeanor, and non-judgmental attitude. - JW

I came in for an ob/gyn appointment and was very distraught over symptoms or side effects from my current birth control method. Dr. Friedman calmly, patiently, and - most importantly - thoroughly explained all methods available and the pros and cons of each. - GS

I was struggling with a large fibroid that was causing numerous symptoms. I met Dr. Friedman who believed it was possible to remove through laparoscopy but warned me that it might require open abdominal surgery. Once he started the surgery, he found that the surgery was going to be far more complicated. But he took the time to remove it through laparoscopy (it took twice as long as expected), which was a godsend. My recovery would have been so much longer if he hadn't. He listens well, he's compassionate, and an outstanding doctor and surgeon. - JN
