NOTE:  The health and safety of our members is always our top priority. To focus our resources during the pandemic,  we have temporarily changed available services at certain medical centers. Go to kp.org/coronavirus for the latest.

Also, if you haven’t done so already, I encourage you to become a registered user on kp.org so that you can access care while remaining in the safety of your home (kp.org/register).  Whether it is getting mail order prescriptions, having virtual visits, or sending secure messages, our mobile app helps us remain connected at all times, but especially during this critical period.

I joined the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group after completing my residency and fellowship training, as well as serving 3 years as a faculty member in the cardiology department at the University of Chicago.

As an academic cardiologist, I enjoyed access to the highest level of care for my patients and the luxury of time both to listen to their questions and concerns and to educate them on cardiovascular diseases and treatments. However, I was frustrated by the inefficiencies of the system both for patients and doctors alike. That’s why when the opportunity arose to join the MAPMG cardiology department, I jumped at the chance. I knew that Kaiser Permanente was a place where doctors can practice and deliver the highest level of care in a system that is efficient, patient centered, and cost effective. Since joining the team, all of my expectations have been met. Now I have the best of both worlds as a physician and as a patient.

While at the University of Chicago, I developed a special interest in non-invasive diagnostic imaging tests for the heart. Those include echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and cardiac CT. Cardiac CT is a new, non-invasive test to evaluate the heart arteries. I am really excited to help add this modality to the list of services available to our health plan members.
