Profile

I grew up knowing I wanted to be a surgeon and was drawn to urology and urologic surgery early in medical school. After my medical education and urologic training, I pursued specialty training in minimally invasive urologic surgery. I found an interest in developing and refining advanced methods to help improve therapeutic techniques through the least invasive means possible. I then returned to the Washington, DC area to join the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Group to practice in an efficient and integrated system with access to state of the art methods and technologies.

My practice encompasses a wide range of urologic conditions and diseases. I maintain my special interest in minimally invasive surgery (including laparoscopy and robotic surgery) to treat urologic cancers and benign diseases of the kidneys, prostate, ureters, adrenal glands, and bladder. I am fortunate to practice in a field that I am passionate about, while maintaining a healthy and collaborative relationship with my colleagues in every field of practice.

In addition to the information below about my medical credentials, I have also completed a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School-Children's Hospital, in Boston.

Links

The internet is a vast ocean of information and, as you probably know, not all the medical information out there is reliable. In fact, when you are reading information on the internet about a symptom, condition, or upcoming surgery, you will sometimes encounter confusion and anxiety instead of the education and reassurance that you sought out to reach.

The urology department has accumulated a list of reliable links that provide information about various urologic conditions, all listed by organ system under the link "Urology Links" to the left, under the heading "Quick Links."
