As an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon, my passion is evaluating and treating musculoskeletal injuries, especially in the active patient trying to return to an active lifestyle.

My expertise includes arthroscopic and complex surgery of the shoulder, hip and knee joint.

Prior to completing a sports medicine and shoulder fellowship, I was an orthopedic surgeon in the US Army for 9 years. While stationed in Landstuhl, Germany, I was the chief of the orthopedic service and oversaw care for US service members injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2011, I was stationed at the Marine Corps Base Camp Dwyer in Afghanistan, where I served as the chief of orthopedics and rehabilitation in a Role III Combat Support Hospital.

What My Patients Say

Dr. Fasihi checked out my X-Rays for a second opinion; however, while I wasn't a candidate for what he provides, I could tell he is a very good and thorough doctor! He took lots of time to patiently answer my questions in-depth, and made me feel very comfortable. He gave me his personal opinion as to what HE would do if he were in my shoes....which I greatly appreciated! - SH

I initially saw Dr. Fasihi for an ankle injury. Not only was he professional, he was kind and concerned; more and more a rarity in the health care industry. I wanted to stay under Dr. Fasihi's care but unfortunately my problems progressed beyond Dr. Fasihi's specialty. He was responsive to my several emails and cared enough to take time to help me find another doctor. Dr. Fasihi rates 5 stars!! - CP

I was referred to Dr. Fasihi by my orthopedic surgeon for a locked shoulder that happened after repair for a torn rotator cuff. I had gone through months of PT, which did not help, and even a second procedure called manipulation under anesthesia, which gave me very little movement. After more PT, my doctor sent me to Dr. Fasihi — a godsend!!! He performed the third procedure and I needed no pain meds and could actually lift my arm straight up and got most of my movement back! A HUGE success for me! After almost two years of little movement, I was extremely pleased and highly recommend him! - SS

I was involved in a bad motorcycle accident and broke most of my lower body. Although he did not [oversee] most of my operations, [Dr. Fasihi] did fully reconstruct both of my knees (all ligaments). He did such an amazing job as now, four months after my accident, I’m starting to convert back to a normal lifestyle. He is an amazing surgeon as well as human being. I wasn’t supposed to walk again after my accident and with his help in both of my knee constructions, I will be able to walk and even do light sports! I am forever in his gratitude and don’t think I’ll ever be able to thank him enough. - JK

I went to see Dr. Fasihi for my frozen shoulder problem. Dr. Fasihi was very professional, kind and very personable. I didn’t feel any pain or discomfort when he gave me an injection to help with my shoulder. Dr. Fasihi explained everything thoroughly to me. This is the best/nicest doctor I have ever seen. He treated me with respect and I really appreciated his kindness. Thank you Kaiser Permanente and Dr. Fasihi. - LN

Dr. Fasihi is the epitome of what it means to be a doctor! He was phenomenal. After having difficult time recovering from a previous ACL and double meniscus repair, I consulted with Dr. Fasihi. He took the time to explain and study my case by reviewing every test, scan and report prior to telling me what he recommended to do. I felt comfortable in his decision and game plan for the surgery itself. The day of my surgery, he was very outgoing, helped me [to] relax and explained everything he had planned on doing. His entire staff was amazing as well. Post surgery, he was instrumental in explaining the outcome of the surgery [and] what he noticed, [and] checking in [a] few days, a week and other appointment times! He is caring, very knowledgeable and patient! Absolutely the best doctor I have ever had. - ME

I saw Dr. Fasihi in Tysons Corner for a labrum tear in my hip. He treated me the best. I would recommend him to anyone. Even after the surgery he responded to my emails and concerns. He even called me on a Sunday to check on me. I am thankful that he [did] my surgery. - DS

Very good doctor. - NK

Dr. Fasihi is an excellent surgeon who replaced my right shoulder in February 2019. After the 6-week “quiet period”, i.e. shoulder constantly in sling to give it time to heal, I was able to resume driving and started PT, resumed my workout routines both at home and in gym, and returned to the pool to swim laps. My range of motion improved daily and soon I was at 100%. This is the successful conclusion of a long story that goes back to the summer of 2016 when I developed pain and swelling in that shoulder .... I found Dr. Fasihi in June 2018 .... [and] he actually listened to me and cared enough to get to the bottom of my problem. He ordered a new X-ray that revealed a deteriorated bone on bone condition caused by arthritis. He also ordered an MRI that showed the site of the fluid-filled sac .... I eventually reached the point where given the constant pain, shoulder replacement had become the only option for me .... My surgery went off flawlessly, [and] Dr. Fasihi also cut out the sac so it could never fill again. My shoulder continues to function perfectly and I can do everything! If you are looking for a great shoulder surgeon and a person who listens and cares, Dr. Fasihi is your doctor. I highly recommend him. - RS
