Why Volunteer?

Enrich the quality of your life and that of others. As a volunteer, you will make a significant impact on the service we provide to our members, visitors and staff.

Volunteer services are focused on customer service and hospitality, complementing the quality of care provided by the staff. Volunteering will give you the opportunity to:

  • Provide service to your community
  • Gain experience in a health care setting
  • Acquire new skills
  • Make new friends

By volunteering as little as four hours a week, you can feel a sense of fulfillment knowing you have made a difference by helping others.

Kaiser Permanente San Jose is a 242-bed hospital with a staff of  400 volunteers. We offer a Senior and Junior Volunteer Program.

Adult Program

Our Adult Program is open to those 18 and older and out of high school. Volunteers are asked for a commitment of at least six months; volunteering a minimum of once a week. Our primary need is weekdays but we do have limited evening and weekend shifts available.
