Young Adults

We offer clinics specially designed for Young Adults, ages 18 to 25. And we make it easy to stay connected with your doctor while you are on the go. You can e-mail your doctor, make appointments, and refill prescriptions – all on our website, any time and any place.

Your Partners in Health

You are the most important person when it comes to taking care of yourself.

You can do a lot on your own to stay safe and healthy. Some things are simple, like watching what you eat and wearing a seat belt. 

But sometimes you need our help. That’s why we’ve made it easy for you to connect with your doctor, view your medical record, and access other online resources from your mobile device or computer.

What We Can Do for You

Our Northern California medical centers have doctors, nurses, and counselors who focus caring for your unique health needs. 

Our young adult services include:

  • Birth control and screening for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
  • Gynecologic care (pregnancy and Pap testing).
  • Skin and vision care, including eyeglasses and contact lenses.
  • Mental health care for help with stress, anxiety, depression, and anger.
  • Eating disorders or substance abuse problems evaluation and care referrals.
  • Sports medicine consultations to help prevent and treat sports-related injuries.
  • Healthy Living programs and services offered in person, by phone, or online, including Wellness Coaching. Online programs include our stop smoking, start exercising, and manage weight services.

Great care starts with choosing your own doctor.

Your doctor is your partner and advocate for all your health needs, including:

  • Wellness visits (checkups)
  • Illness treatment
  • Specialty care coordination

We have doctors who enjoy working with young adults and understand issues that matter to you.

Take a few minutes to learn about doctors in your area and choose one who is right for you.

  • Choose your doctor in a location that’s close to your school, home, or work.
  • Check with us about when to go to your campus health center or to a Kaiser facility if you’re a student living away from home.

Activate Your Online Account

Stay connected to your doctor and convenient online resources wherever you are.

Once you’ve activated your account, you can:

  • Email your doctor nonurgent messages.
  • Get alerts when it’s time for routine health screenings, tests, and immunizations.
  • Get appointment reminders – and reschedule or cancel, if needed.
  • See upcoming appointment details, including your clinician’s home page.
  • Read health tips and updates from our experts.
  • Get maps and directions to Northern California Kaiser Permanente medical centers and medical office facilities.
  • Find hours and phone numbers for pharmacy, lab, radiology, and other departments.

Your personal information will be private and secure on our Young Adult website.

KP Preventive Care Mobile App

KP Preventive Care is a free app for Northern California Kaiser Permanente members, available on the App Store or Google Play. It lets you access your health information and other features in one place, including:

  • Alerts for preventive care you need.
  • Reminders on upcoming appointments.
  • Access to the Appointment and Advice line.
  • Directions to nearby Kaiser Permanente medical facilities. 

Search for "KP Preventive Care" and download it to your mobile device. Once it’s installed, log in with your username and password.
