We understand that you are experiencing one or more of the health issues that might be impacting your back pain.

We recommend that you discuss these health issues with your doctor before proceeding with this program.

2013 Seeds of Hope Cancer Survivors Day Program (June 23, 2013) 

Keynote Speaker: 

David Sobel, MD, MPH, has appeared in more than 200 television programs to educate the public about health issues (Today Show, CNN) and has published over eight books. He is currently the Medical Director of Patient Education and Health Promotion for Kaiser Permanente’s Northern California Region. 

Sessions:

  • Nutrition Session Speaker: 
    Preston Maring, MD has been an OB/GYN physician with Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center since 1971.  With a passion for cooking, he established Farmer’s Market at Kaiser Permanente.  He also has home cooking videos on Kaiser Permanente’s YouTube channel, and a cooking blog.   
  • Emotional Wellness Speaker: 
    Sherry Pruitt Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and the Director of Behavioral Science Integration for Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento, California.  She has published extensively in the area of behavioral medicine, and is a member and writer for the World Health Organization (WHO).
