I was born and raised in Japan where I first became a nurse midwife in 1991. After ten years of practice as a nurse midwife and delivering more than a thousand babies in Japan, I moved to California to study Holistic Health Science at San Francisco State University. I fell in love with the diversity I found in the San Francisco Bay Area and decided to be a nurse midwife in California. This allowed me to follow my passion and continue my amazing journey as a midwife and working for women and their families.  While working as a labor and delivery nurse in San Francisco, I attended a dual program of Nursing Midwifery and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner  program at University of California, San Francisco and graduated with a Master's Degree.

I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2012. I am honored to be a part of this great team of professionals and appreciate the supportive relationships our midwifery group has with our wonderful obstetritians, pediatritians and nurses.  I believe in the Kaiser Permanente philosophy of evidence based practice, health promotion and disease prevention to improve the health of our members and the community we serve.

As a nurse midwife, I want to understand a women as a integrated person by focusing not only her physical needs but as well as emotional and spiritual needs. I care for low risk women during prenancy, labor, childbirth and post partum by promoting healthy pregnancy and identifying any deviation from the normal. I want to provide a woman and her family individualized and family centered care and a truly uique childbirth experience. By providing evidence based care, counseling, guidance and support, I want to help a womam explore the best available options to have a childbirth she desires. I enjoy working for the variety of populations in the San Francisco Bay Area.  I am also fluent in Japanese.
