Professional

Background

I completed my training in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology at the New York Presbyterian Hospital/Cornell Medical Center in 2004. I came to Kaiser Permanente in 2008 after spending four years on faculty at the University of California San Francisco.

I chose to specialize in treating heart disease because it is a field in which there are so many different things we can do to improve patients’ health: procedures, medicines, diet and exercise all make a difference. While I do perform procedures, I also enjoy forging long-term relationships with patients and try to emphasize the importance of lifestyle changes that play a vital part in keeping the heart healthy.

In addition to practicing cardiology, I conduct research into looking at which patients benefit most from our treatments and hold a faculty appointment as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at UCSF.
