Professional

Background

I was raised in the Bay Area and am now a Regional Care Manager for the Genetics Multispecialty Program at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland. I enjoy working with highly complex patients, and am dedicated to improving the quality of care of children and their families.

After earning my first Bachelor degree in Psychobiology from UCLA, I earned a Bachelor degree in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Science in Nursing as an Advanced Practice Pediatric Nurse from UCSF.I am licensed as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), and Registered Nurse (RN). I maintain my PNP certification, PNP Furnishing License, Pediatric Advance Life Support, and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.

I started my career at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford in 2002, and continued there until 2013. I provided excellent patient care, while also playing an integral role building and growing a leading Heart Center. My passion for teaching and research lead me to pursue formal teaching experience as an Associate Clinical Professor at UCSF, where I taught Child-Parent Nursing. I also enjoyed teaching as a Clinical Instructor at UCSF and San Francisco State.

I joined the Regional Craniofacial team in Genetics at Kaiser Permanente in 2011 and gradually increased my commitment in the Genetics department. Now, I support the Regional Craniofacial, Spina Bifida, and Neurofibromatosis programs.

Before graduate school, I traveled and monitored health and safety conditions internationally, including China, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore, Turkey, India, Mexico, Brazil, Belize, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, England, Ireland, Scotland, Prague, and more. I enjoy learning about different cultures and helping to build mutual respect, which I continue to do in the diverse Bay Area.

Outside of work, I focus on my husband and our 4 young children, which include a set of identical twin girls. My weekends include spending time with friends and family, long walks, riding bikes, skiing, swimming, and many kid’s activities.
