I am a Bay Area Native, born at Kaiser Permanente , and raised in Fremont, California.
I received my BS in Occupational Therapy from San Jose State University 1988 and MS in Traditional Chinese Medicine & Herbology from the Academy of Chinese Culture & Health Sciences in (Oakland) 2001. I also participated in a 2009 Summer Externship with ZheJiang University, China, then completed my Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) from Five Branches Institute in (San Jose) 2010.
I have been practicing in Occupational Therapy (OTR/L) since 1989 and worked in various in/outpatient hospital, corporate, and private practice rehabilitation clinics. My speciality since 1991 has been in the Hand & Upper Extremity Rehabilitation. I became a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) in 2003.
As an Occupational Therapist, I continually explored ways to promote optimal healing and functional recovery for my patient's (neurological, musculoskeletal, orthopedic) conditions. This search lead me back to my Chinese cultural roots, and to the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM is one of the oldest healing systems in the world. It focuses on the energetics and balance of the whole person, balancing our life force energy, preventive care, wellness, and being in harmony with nature and the seasons. Mind, body & spirit
I became a California licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac) in 2001 and have been integrating the best of both Eastern ancient concepts and Western modern medicine.   I currently work as a CHT & Acupuncturist for Hand Surgeons and Orthopedic Physicians in the East Bay.
I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2013 as an Acupuncturist. I am honored to be working here living my dream of integrating TCM/acupuncture alongside with conventional medicine.

Kaiser Permanente offers me the challenges and huge opportunity to accelerate my growth professionally & personally by learning from each encounter. I love the opportunity to work with a large variety of people and integrate Western & Eastern therapeutic techniques and modalities in individual treatments. Treatment may include  acupressure techniques & simple natural healing ways to awaken the powerful life force energy your bodies to stimulate healing.
