I received my Master’s degree and training from Five Branches University. Before joining Kaiser Permanente, I was the Clinic Director and Lead Acupuncturist for the Bayview Hunters Point Health and Environmental Resource Center, a San Francisco-based non-profit whose focus is helping the health disparities of the under-served community of Bayview Hunters Point. Funded by the San Francisco Department of Public Health, my role was to create and implement a free high-volume acupuncture clinic in the housing projects of Bayview Hunters Point. This experience gave me invaluable insight and clinical knowledge. I spent many years in this role treating upwards of 30 patients a day in a very culturally diverse community. Having the opportunity to treat thousands of patients, I was able to fine tune and develop the most effective ways to treat a multitude of conditions. Though I treated a broad range of conditions, the effect acupuncture had on pain was astounding, and this is why I chose to specialize in Chronic Pain Management.

This experience also taught me that to give my patients the highest quality of care, an integration of alternative and allopathic medicine was necessary.  This integration of medicine is what made me want to join Kaiser Permanente. Working at KP, I have the ability to bridge the holistic perspective of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine with the most up-to-date technology and knowledge of modern medicine.  Working within this model and with such a talented group of physicians, my patients are able to receive complete, comprehensive, high quality care.

In my practice, I draw from many different styles of acupuncture including Japanese acupuncture, Chinese acupuncture, Five Element Acupuncture, and Balance Method Acupuncture.  Having the ability to draw from different styles of acupuncture allows me to create treatment plans that can meet the individual needs of each patient.
