Professional

Background

I was born and raised in the Midwest.  I attended Michigan State University and then completed my master’s degree in New York City.  I moved to California to enjoy the West Coast weather and to be with my husband. We have 2 children to enjoy the beautiful Bay Area with.

I enjoy working at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco because the department has very talented clinicians with a variety of expertise.  We have many excellent evidence based psychotherapy groups.  Kaiser emphasizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and studies have shown this therapy to be very effective in treating depression and anxiety. I use cognitive behavioral therapy in my sessions along with other treatment modalities as appropriate. I work in conjunction with my clients in setting their goals and in determining a treatment plan. I specialize in depression, anxiety, relational problems, and postpartum depression. I am most interested in depression and anxiety because they are very common conditions and affect almost everyone at some point in their lives. I enjoy watching members improve and recover.
