Thank you for visiting my web page. I am an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in spinal disorders. My approach is to educate, inform, and encourage every patient to make the best decisions for their health. I strive to improve quality of life for my patients while minimizing the risks of treatment.
I grew up in Victorville, CA, and attended college at University of California, Berkeley. After college, I served in the AmeriCorps Community HealthCorps in Oakland, developing and managing a diabetes education program, which peaked my interest in educating people about their health. This led me to medical school at University of California, Davis where orthopaedics sparked my passion to help patients optimize their physical function.
I returned to the Bay Area to complete my orthopaedic surgery residency with the San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency Program. During residency I decided to further specialize in spine surgery. I pursued fellowship training at the Leatherman Spine Center in Louisville, KY, where I gained extensive experience in a wide range of surgical spinal conditions in children, adolescents, and adults. I also furthered my interest in studying outcomes of spine care through research. I am actively involved in several societies including the Scoliosis Research Society, North American Spine Society, Cervical Spine Research Society, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
I chose to join Kaiser Permanente because I believe in our mission as a health system to put the patient first and have each member thrive. As a system, we continuously analyze and improve our efforts to deliver the best care possible. I am honored to work with a dedicated support staff as well as an especially skilled and thoughtful group of spine surgeons, who unselfishly share their opinions and collaborate in the management of your care. As a team, we aim to deliver outstanding service.
I am grateful to have a wonderful family who support me in dedicating the necessary time and energy to my profession.
I look forward to meeting and providing you with quality care.
