I was born in Vietnam, but grew up in the Bay Area; thus the Bay Area has a special place in my heart. My educational journey took me to Los Angeles, but returning home to serve my community has always been a priority.
I grew up in an Asian household with an early exposure to Eastern Medicine, which helped shape my philosophy on health. While I am not trained in Eastern Medicine, I learned to appreciate the aspect of holistic and individualized medicine – viewing every patient as a unique individual. I also believe that an emphasis on preventative medicine is the key to a more healthy community. Therefore, I chose to practice primary care with Kaiser Permanente because Kaiser Permanente also shares this core value.
Along the idea of holistic and individualized medicine, equally important to making the right diagnosis, and prescribing an appropriate treatment plan, is a strong patient-provider relationship. The most rewarding part about being a physician is establishing long-term, strong healing relationships with patients. This will take time and I am willing to do my part to earn the trust. I want my patients to know that I always have their best interest in mind. When my skills and knowledge are limited, I will reach out to my specialist colleagues to get my patients the best care I can. My goal is to work with patients when they are healthy and to keep them healthy.
