I grew up in the Bay Area of California and had an early interest in medicine from the time I could speak. I loved going to see my pediatrician and found learning about my medical care fascinating. I was the kid who not only wanted to go to the physician's office but who wanted to double their appointment time by asking questions the entire time. I excelled in the sciences in school and quickly became enthralled with psychiatry and psychology in high school. Picking psychiatry was an easy, consistent choice from there onwards and it was my goal through high school, college, and medical school.
My professional areas of interest in addition to psychiatry include LGBTQIA+ care, the overlap of gaming and mental health, psychology, and general advocacy for mental health. I like to care for my patients very collaboratively and have a clear understanding of their values and personal goals so we can incorporate them into a treatment plan that works for my patients.
