I was born and raised in sunny Philadelphia and moved to California to pursue my career in pediatrics while being close to my family. I majored in biomedical engineering at the University of Pennsylvania which was a wonderful approach to medicine from a different angle. I then went on to complete medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine. Although a Philly girl at heart I decided that moving to California would be a great change and I've loved every second of it!
I'm one of those people who knew I wanted to be a pediatrician since I myself was a pediatric patient. My dreams came to focus when I witnessed the birth of my first nephew. I experienced an innate feeling of wanting to nurture him as he grew, to optimize his health and well-being, to prevent him from harm, and to teach him by serving as a role model. I soon realized that my goals to play a crucial role in this new life were not just for my nephew but that I had an urge to extend myself to the millions of lives that blossom every day.
Here I am now with the experience of helping raise 6 nieces and nephews and years of excellent training at Kaiser Permanente's residency program in Oakland. I decided to stay with Kaiser Permanente because I fell in love with its mission and focus on patient wellness and I truly feel that the group's philosophy and values coincide with mine.
I'm excited to have the opportunity to express my passion for preventative care and healthy living to my patients and their families. I see myself growing as both a person and a doctor everyday with the help of my colleagues, mentors, and most importantly, my patients.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, dancing, hiking and enjoying beautiful California.
