I had a non-traditional pathway to medicine with a foundation in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, where I graduated as a member of the Eta Kappa Nu Honor Society. I then served as a management consultant at Deloitte Consulting before redirecting my career trajectory towards the field of medicine.
I pursued my medical education at the University of Illinois in Chicago, graduating with the Alpha Omega Alpha distinction in 2014 followed by a residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Stanford where I had the privilege of training under truly exceptional surgeons. Complementing my clinical endeavors, I dedicated an extensive period to rigorous laboratory research. Leveraging my foundational expertise in engineering, I conducted in-depth studies on biomechanics, specifically in the domains of complex valve repairs and heart failure.
Post-residency, I undertook an additional year of focused training in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at Stanford Children’s Hospital, with an emphasis on adult congenital heart disease, and advanced heart failure. My comprehensive practice encompasses the entirety of cardiothoracic surgery, with a specific interest in complex valve repairs, mechanical circulatory support, and adult congenital heart disease.
I perceive my work as both a vocation and a privilege, grounded in a profound belief in a humanistic approach to patient care. The values upheld by Kaiser Permanente, centered on holistic patient care and the delivery of intricate, high-quality medical services, align seamlessly with my own professional principles. I speak fluent English, Hindi, Telugu, and French.
I am thrilled to have joined the team of excellent and dedicated clinicians at Kaiser Permanente in 2023.
