I was born in Afghanistan and raised in Amarillo, Texas. I attended Texas Tech University for college, where I studied Biology, Chemistry, and Arabic. I then continued my studies with Texas Tech and obtained a master’s in molecular pathology, a master’s in business administration, and a doctorate in medicine. I have considered Texas home my whole life and am definitely a country girl at heart, but I am now ready to open my arms and embrace California as my new home!
I am honored to have joined Kaiser Permanente and to plant roots in the diverse community of Northern California. Coming from an immigrant background, I am passionate about serving the immigrant and refugee communities, as well as the underserved. Working with a diverse patient population has taught me to value the different walks of life my patients may come from, regardless of age, race, or sexuality. As a Kaiser Permanente physician, I wish to continue cultivating a patient-doctor relationship through respect, compassion, and evidence-based medicine.
My practice philosophy is to make a difference in my patient’s life by putting their health interest first. I strive to guide my patients to healthier lives through active listening and transparent communication while maintaining cultural awareness and patient autonomy. I am excited to be a part of the Kaiser Permanente San Jose Family Medicine Residency program for my training!
